JOURNAL TOPIC:
Remember music as literature? Instead of listening to a tune today while you write in your journal, think of a song that comes to mind when you reflect on the characters and the landscape in The Great Gatsby. Why this song? The sound/melody/beat? The lyrics? The memories you associate with it? Please describe and explain.
AGENDA:
1. Journal
2. Chapter 2 in small bites
HW: Please post your notes (title: GATSBY CHAPTER 2 NOTES)
My Perogative by Bobby Brown
ReplyDeleteSecret Love by Hunter Hayes

ReplyDeleteDeath of a Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco. I picked this song because in the first chapter Daisy was telling Nick how she'd try to hook him up with Miss Baker. So in a way he's saying goodbye to his bachelor life. Yet Tom who isn't a bachelor is acting like he is by being with other women.
ReplyDeleteNancy With The Laughing Face by Frank Sinatra; it makes me think of Tom and the way he probably feels about his mistress.
ReplyDeleteFly me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra
ReplyDeleteI always think of jazz when it comes to this time period.
Expressing my angry thoughts on my notes about Chapter 2 made me feel better(:
